A big success? Over 0.5 million complaints solved by Pakistan Citizen Portal

According to the made complaints, strict action was taken and senior officers were confronted for their negligence of duty.

The cabinet has been informed that the federal government is going to lead the provincial governments in the redressal of complaints received at Prime Minister’s Pakistan Citizen Portal.

It was informed that 1.173 million users have registered themselves on the portal with 100,000 internal users, 103,000 overseas Pakistanis, and 4,000 foreigners. If we look at the data province wise, 568,000 are using the facility from Punjab, 284,000 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 137,000 from Sindh, 35,000 from Islamabad, 12,000 from Balochistan, 7,000 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 1,000 from Gilgit-Baltistan are registered with the citizen portal.

As per the report presented, the federal government has resolved 509,153 out of the registered 553,125 complaints. In Punjab, the redressal rate is 88%, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 100,635 out of 116,050 complaints. In Islamabad, 9,909 complaints out of 11,137 were resolved. Sindh government lagged behind as compared to all other governments, with a 40pc redressal rate, they managed to resolve 38,268 out of 95,894 complaints. Balochistan government resolved 6,166 complaints out of 7,782.

New Policy Initiatives:

On the basis of the feedback received from the citizens, many policy initiatives were taken for their benefit. These initiatives include enforcement of SOPs for the facilitation of persons with missing fingerprints, exemption of overseas Pakistanis from withholding tax, facilitation of females and people with disabilities and payment of outstanding stipends to over 29,000 interns who were hired by the previous government, but weren’t paid their stipend.

According to the made complaints, strict action was taken and senior officers were confronted for their negligence of duty.

Many stories were shared with the citizens where relief was provided to the cabinet. These included providing help to citizens in the case of non-cooperation from government officials and offices, recovery of abductee, blackmailing, taking action against police officials who had colluded with culprits involved in rape of a girl, bringing back of a Pakistani citizen who was stuck in Saudi Arabia due to bankruptcy of a company and action against high-handedness of police officials.

The cabinet was informed that the efforts were being done to create awareness amongst the people about the facility. Efforts are being made to stop blackmailing, misuse of power or authority, mala fide through the implementation of Citizen’s Responsibility Index.
