Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, cinemas in Pakistan were closed and the release of many 2020 movies was pushed forward. However, now that the vaccination drive is progressing in the country at full speed, people are speculating about the reopening of cinemas. There are chances that theaters and cinemas may reopen soon.
Here is a list of movies that will be released when cinemas reopen:
Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad
Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is an action-comedy with lots of twists, turns, and quick-witted humor. The star cast of the movie features Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan and is expected to release on Eid-ul-Azha.
London Nahi Jaunga
Written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and directed by Nadeem Baig, London Nahi Jaunga is still under production. Therefore, its release date is not final yet. Phenomenal celebrities including Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, and Kubra Khan play lead roles in the movie.
Tich Button
Tich Button is directed by Qasim Ali Mureed and produced by Urwa Hocane. The principal photography of the film began in February 2019 and the film was scheduled to be released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr in 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dum Mastam
Dum Mastam stars Imran Ashraf and Amar Khan in the lead roles. Adnan Siddiqui will be making his debut as a producer with Dum Mastam and the movie will be released in 2021. The filming of the movie is complete; however, post-production activities are still underway.
The Legend of Maula Jutt
Bilal Lashari’s upcoming film, The Legend of Maula Jatt was initially set to release in 2020 but Covid-19 halted everything. The new date for the release of the movie is yet to be announced. The film stars big names like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Gohar Rasheed, and Humaima Malick.
Money-Back Guarantee
Money-Back Guarantee is a Pakistani film directed by Faisal Qureshi. The film stars Fawad Khan, Hina Dilpazir, Ali Safina, Wasim Akram, Shayan Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Gohar Rasheed, and Afzal Khan aka Jan Rambo. Originally, the film was scheduled for release on the 22nd of May 2020.
Kamli
Directed by Sarmad Khoosat, the movie was initially expected to release on Eid-ul-Fitr 2020. Saba Qamar was last seen on the big screen in Pakistan in Wajahat Rauf’s Lahore Se Aagey.
Ghabrana Nahi Hai
Ghabrana Nahi Hai is a movie about empowerment and it starrs Saba Qamar in the lead role. The upcoming film also features Zahid Ahmed and Syed Jibran in pivotal roles. Directed by Saqib Khan, the film had previously aimed for an Eid-ul-Azha 2020 release, however, shooting for the project had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
Neelofar
The movie stars Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, has been written by Ammar Rasool, and has been produced by Qasim Mehmood. This project is the next film of the two famous actors after Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt, which is yet to hit the screens.
Ishrat – Made in China
Ishrat Made In China features Shamoon Abbasi, Sanam Saeed, Mani, Sara Loren, Nayyar Ejaz, Shabbir Jaan, and Ali Kazmi. The movie will introduce fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yaseen (HSY) in a negative role. It is an action flick that revolves around gang rivalries and will be released soon after the cinemas re-open.
Rehbara
Rehbara is an upcoming Pakistani romantic comedy film, directed by Amin Iqbal and produced by Saira Afzal. The film stars Ahsan Khan and Ayesha Omer in leading roles. The film was scheduled to release in 2020, but now it will be released when cinemas reopen.
Kahay Dil Jidhar
Kahay Dil Jidhar stars Junaid Khan, Mansha Pasha, and Roma Michael in lead roles. The movie is written by Kamran Bari and has been directed by Jalal. Junaid Khan is making his big-screen debut with this film.
Chakkar
Chakkar is an upcoming Pakistani murder mystery film directed by Yasir Nawaz and produced by Nida Yasir, in association with Farid Nawaz Productions. The film stars Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Yasir Nawaz, Javed Sheikh, and Danish Nawaz. The film’s principal photography began in March 2020 in Karachi and the shoot was wrapped up on the 27th of December 2020.
Pardey Mein Rehne Do
Pardey Mein Rehne Do is produced by Shazia Wajahat. The movie stars Ali Rehman Khan, Hania Aamir, and Javed Sheikh in lead roles. The shoot was completed in March 2021 and the movie is expected to be released in 2021.
Abhee
Abhee is an upcoming movie starring the talented Gohar Mumtaz and Kubra Khan. The film also features Saleem Sheikh, Usman Peerzada, Yasra Rizvi, Mahmood Aslam, Hina Bayat, Ehteshamud Din, and Asif Raza Mir. The movie’s story is full of thrill and romance. It is written by Gohar Mumtaz, directed by Asad Malik, and produced by international UK-based company Daniel Johnes.
