3 Canadian universities offering scholarships for Pakistani students

Canada offers a number of different scholarship programs in renwoned universities for Pakistani students. These universities are reputed for offering quality education which is why many foreign students prefer them.

This year, some universities of Canada are offering tuition-free options to international students through their scholarship and grants. The grants are available for students who wish to pursue undergrature, graduate or doctoral studies abroad.

Some of these programs even over the living expenses.

1- University of Toronto

The University of Toronto was established by royal charter in 1827 as King’s College. It is located in Queen’s Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The university was the first one offering higher learning in upper Canada and is a public research institution.

The university provides non-repayable monetary awards to students as scholarships. These grants are provided based on specific criteria which include merits, community engagement, athletic performance, financial need and leadership.

In addition to this, the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) which is funded by the government provides the students meeting the eligibility criteria with a combination of grants and loans.

2- York University

York University is a prestigious Urban university that provides tons of opportuinities to the international students. The university offers a bunch of different scholarships which include the Global Leader of Tomorrow Award for International Students and the York University Automatic Entrance Scholarships. Moreover, other renowned programs like Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation Scholarship is also provided by the university.

The successful applicants may also be able to renew their scholarships which would further contribute to the value of the scholarship.

3- University of British Colombia

UBC is an institute that is known for holding a prominent position as a global center for research, education and instruction. It has also been listed as the top 20 public universities in the world.

The university offers need-based and merit based scholarships for both, the Canadian and international students. The university’s funding program covers full tuition waivers among other forms of assistance.
