35 Pakistani Companies To Participate In China Import Expo In Shanghai

This isn’t the first time Pakistan has taken part in the expo, it also took part last year in Shanghai, where numerous companies from Pakistan showed their products.

More than 35 Pakistani companies will take part and show their products at the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is to be held in Shanghai from November 5th to November 10th. The products will include textile, leather, surgical equipment, home furnishing, and sports goods, etc.

Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor on Commerce, Textile, Production, and Investment, will supervise the Pakistani delegation. Some of Pakistan’s top business executives will also be present at the event.

“As many as 35 tops export-oriented Pakistani companies will display textile, leather and sports goods, surgical equipment, home furnishing, and other products at their stalls set up at the expo in an effort to enhance exports to China,” said Badar uz Zaman, Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of Pakistan, Beijing.

The companies attending from Karachi are M/s Garib Sons, Marhaba Laboratories, Sarmco International, Continental Traders, Al-Hamra Handicrafts, Indus Marbles, Pak Products, Ansari Brothers, Hamdan Traders, FB Enterprises and Chadyala Art.

The above-mentioned companies export rice, textile garments, leather products, carpet, handicrafts, wood furniture, sports, and natural herbal products, etc. and are looking forward to searching for opportunities in China, that’ll enhance exports from Pakistan.

The TDAP (Trade Development Authority of Pakistan) will set up stalls to showcase Pakistani products. The advisor will talk to the media about the trade and investment opportunities in the country.

As per a senior official at China’s Ministry of Commerce, 63 countries have registered for the exhibition, and over 3,000 businesses or more from over 150 countries and regions will attend the exhibition, which is more than the participants at the first CIIE.

This year, the expo will have to primary exhibition categories, first is a country exhibition and second is a business exhibition.

The business exhibition will cover more than 300,000 square meters of floor space, and over 3,000 enterprises from 150 countries and regions will take part in the exhibition. About 172 countries and 3,600 enterprises took part in the first CIIE last year.
