35,000 new houses to be built in Lahore under Naya Pakistan Housing Program
Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has declared that Lahore will receive 35,000 new houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program. These houses will come with affordable and accessible installment schemes.
Under this scheme, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has been directed to develop 10,240 housing units of 650 sq. feet, 12384 units of 800 sq. feet, 7800 apartments of 1100 sq. feet, 3360 further housing units of 1500 sq. feet, and 1200 houses of 2200 sq. feet.
Initially, 4000 green housing units will be built for which Rs. 10 billion will be allotted. The Naya Pakistan Housing Project will also grant a subsidy of 0.3 million on each apartment.
According to the released details in the tweet, the total cost of a 650 sq. feet apartment will be about Rs. 27,00,000. However, a downpayment of Rs. 270,000 with monthly installments of Rs. 15,950 may be paid to acquire the plot.
PM Imran Khan is set to inaugurate the project on the 25th of December, after which the LDA will proceed with the construction of the houses in either late December or early January.
