Pakistani actors Ayesha Omer, Ushna Shah, Adnan Jilani, and Farhan Ali Agha are reportedly selected in the first round of auditions held in Lahore and Karachi.
The joint production of Pakistan and Turkey based on the Muslim general Salahuddin Ayyubi is the most awaited project. The media houses of the two countries have broadcast procedures to co-produce a television series.
Salahuddin Ayyub was a great Muslim warrior. He became the first sultan of Egypt and Syria and founded the Ayyubid Dynasty.
More than 6,000 people, including professional and emerging artists, had applied for the auditions for the series. However, only 62 were short-listed to be screened in Pakistan and Turkey simultaneously. Pakistani actors Ayesha Omer, Ushna Shah, Adnan Jilani, and Farhan Ali Agha are reportedly selected in the first round of auditions held in Lahore and Karachi.
Ansari and Shah Films from Pakistan and Turkey’s Akli Films Emre Konuk have signed a contract for the combined entertainment project. However, senior Pakistani actors Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui are executive producers.
The Turkish producer also exchanged his views with the Prime Minister, Imran Khan, about the historical series as he is also the admirer of this legendry warrior.
Quoting the prime minister, he said, “PM Khan believes that the project will resonate in the world and that it will also be valuable for the younger generations.”
