Budget of PKR 40 billion approved for uplift projects in neglected areas of Balochistan
Another vital factor discussed in the meeting was essential health, along with rural health issues.
PKR 40 million has been approved by the Balochistan Planning and Development Department for all the ongoing as well as new development projects for the remaining fiscal year.
According to the officials, a meeting was held that was led by Jam Kamal Khan (Chief Minister of Balochistan). In the meeting, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Additional Chief Secretary Planning, and Development briefed about these projects and their estimated budget.
“Previously, funds generally lapsed because they were issued at the end of the fiscal year. No delay will be tolerated in the completion of development projects, and there will be no compromise on the quality of work.”
As mentioned by the Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, a large number of development schemes (around 344) under the ongoing development program would be hopefully completed and fully operational by the end of 2019. Whereas, 210 development projects would be completed by the end of next year in their due time.

Issues related to planning and development, education, health, sports, youth affairs, and urban planning and development were discussed in this meeting. Apart from that, 77 projects belonging to various other departments were discussed as well.
Another vital factor discussed in the meeting was essential health, along with rural health issues. The development of new schools was also considered at the conference. Besides, setting up the new tourism sites was also taken into account so that the tourists’ influx in the province can be increased.
Exclusive engineers, as well as other officials, are directed to complete all these development schemes within due time. They are also directed to utilize the provided funds responsibly. Other than that, it is said that work plans would be provided to the contractors before the beginning of a new project so that the contractors can function as per the given instructions.
The meeting was joined by various people including Mir Zahoor Ahmed, Finance Minister, Mir Arif Jan Hasni, Communications Minister, Mir M. Khan Lehri, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Education, Bushra Rind, Quetta Development Authority Chairman, and more.
