425 Prisoners diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in Pakistani Jails

The Human Rights Ministry has submitted a report to the Islamabad High Court, which states 5189 people are suffering from HIV/AIDS and other life threatening diseases.

According to the report, the medical facilities in the jails are not adequate for the treatment and prevention of such infectious diseases.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday heard the case on prisoners’ condition in jails. During the trial, The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Athar Manullah, remarked that the court would pass a comprehensive judgment regarding the provision of health facilities to the prisoners.
