TikTok has had received mixed response across the globe ever since its launch. The video sharing  app is one of the most used social networking sites in Pakistan.

According to a recent report, as many as 19.5 million people in Pakistan use TikTok. During the last few months, calls for ban on TikTok have increased, mainly due to the controversies involving Hareem Shah and Sandal Khattak.

Now, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revealed that hundreds of people have requested for ban on the video sharing site. The telecommunication authority in a statement said that it received 500 complaints asking for ban on TikTok.

However, the PTA does not have any plans of banning the site. Recently, rumors regarding ban on the popular video sharing site have been doing the rounds on social media. But PTA has rejected all these rumors.

As per PTA, TikTok has been collaborating with it, which is why the authority doesn’t plan to ban it.

A few weeks ago, a petition asking for ban on TikTok was also filed in the Lahore High Court calling the app “great mischief of modern times”.
