5,000 motorists fined for usage of HID lights this year

All the traffic officials have been directed to take strong actions against every person who is found violating the law.

5000 motorists have been fined by The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) for using High-intensity discharge (HID) lights this year. The fine has been levied by ITP to make sure that the city has a safe road environment.

Special checking campaigns were conducted by ITP squads at important boulevards of the city including Expressway, Margallah Road, Kashmir Highway, IJP Road, Murree Road etc. During these campaigns, several violators were fined.

According to an ITP spokesman, awareness about these lights is being spread by the education team while special police pickets have been put up at major avenues of the Capital city to check the usage.

He said that he has directed all the traffic officials to take stern actions against the persons involved in this illegal practice without any discrimination.

According to him, all the traffic officials have been directed to take strong actions against every person who is found violating the law.
