10-year-old Girl Paraded Naked In Peshawar As A ‘Punishment’

‘’ The minor burst into tears and tried to hide her body, but Hussain forced her to continue the plight’’ (Express Tribune)

A ten-year-old girl was forced to parade naked in the area of Hashtnagri, Peshawar as a ‘punishment’ this Friday.

As reported by ET, a fight between children worsened and lead to adults getting involved in it. The bicker occurred Phool Imambargah when a man named Mazhar Hussain infiltrated the crowd, leading to the worst low of human behaviour. Mazhar tore the minor girl’s clothes and forced her to roam around the area as a punishment.

The innocent girl kept crying, trying to hide her body but Mazhar continued with his shameless behaviour and forced her to pursue the plight. Though the incident has caused a wave of hate, anger and dissent in the locality, however, media outlets have maintained silence on the horrifying incident.

An FIR was registered against Hussain and he is currently under arrest. The affected girl’s family is constantly under pressure and is receiving death threats to force them to retaliate.

However, District Councilor Peshawar Muhammad Asim Khan took notice of the incident after it was seen making rounds across social media. He condemned Hashtnagri incident and also went to meet the family and the victim.

Nazim further ordered Station House Officer (SHO) of the area to take urgent action and punish the culprit at the earliest. Khan also assured the family that despite the pressure, the local district authorities will be by their side and will ensure justice be served to them.

This is not the first time an incident of this distressing and afflicting nature met our eye. In November last year, four men facing charges of parading a girl naked in Ghara Matt village of Dera Ismail Khan accepted their crime before a court. The police came into action after the incident caused an outrage on social media.
