62-year-old throws acid on a young man for refusing to have illicit relations with him

The incident took place in Punjab's Vehari.


A 62-year-old man threw acid on a young man’s face for refusing to have illicit relationships with him. According to the details available, the old man used to pressurize 18-year-old Ahmed to have ‘unnatural’ intimate relationships with him. Upon his refusal, he attacked him with acid in vengeance.

The incident took place outside Housing Scheme Children Park. The culprit, Riaz, threw acid on Ahmed and fled on a motorbike. Victim’s neck, face, and eyes have suffered severe burns. He was immediately shifted to District Hospital Vehari where he received initial medical treatment and was later shifted to Multan. However, Ahmed lost his eyesight as a result of the attack.

On the other hand, the police acted promptly and arrested Riaz from Toba Tek Singh. Riaz confessed to his heinous crime and said that he knew Ahmed through social media. A case was lodged against the culprit with charges of terrorism and attempt-to-murder.
