‘$7m being remitted to Pakistan by expatriates on daily basis’

Among the top users of the facilities are expatriates from The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States of America (USA).

Prime Minister Imran Khan has told that 82728 Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs) have been created by overseas Pakistanis living in 97 different countries.

$436 million have been remitted in digital accounts thus far. This way, Pakistani expatriates are remitting $6 million to $7 million on an average daily.

The Prime Minister chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the facilities provided to overseas Pakistanis through the Roshan Digital Account.

The facilities were launched as part of the PM’s vision and the response to it was encouraging.

Among the top users of the facilities are expatriates from The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States of America (USA).

The Roshan Digital Account (RDA) is an initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan.

The purpose of the RDA initiative is to serve as a financial link between the overseas and at-home Pakistanis. This is done by the facilitation of remittances.

Eight commercial banks were approached for collaboration in the plan. These commercial banks have now made it very convenient for millions to open an account online, without visiting any bank branches, embassies, or consulates. The online accounts can be created by providing basic information and documents.
