According to media reports, an 80-year-old woman was raped by a man on Thursday. The shocking incident took place in the Toba Tek Singh district of Punjab. The police have narrowed down the location to a place at Mauza Khokhranwali, a suburban village in the Kamalia area of Toba Tek Singh.

Speaking of how the events transpired, an investigation officer said:

A vagabond, identified as Bilal, son of Bakhtawar, entered the older woman’s house when she was asleep. The man then tortured the woman by suffocating her with a string, sexually assaulted her, and fled the scene.

While the incident took place on Thursday, the news emerged on Saturday when the woman walked into the Saddar police station to file a complaint. Upon hearing the incident, the police registered the case and launched a search operation to arrest the suspect.
