Aakash Chopra Picks This Pakistani Player as the ‘PSL Player of The Tournament’
Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan was among the star performers of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) this season.
The Islamabad United’s captain had an impressive run with the bat, scoring 263 runs in eight innings. This included 3 half-centuries as well.
Shadab Khan managed to impress many cricketing enthusiasts including former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra. In fact, the cricket commentator picked Shadab Khan as the player of the tournament.
“Shadab Khan was player of the tournament for me. Even though he took only eight wickets, but he batted really well, so well done to Shadab and our Adaab to you,’’ Chopra said.
Furthermore, Aakash Chopra has also heaped praise on Babar Azam.
‘‘Babar Azam has been absolutely brilliant. He is scoring runs consistently and was the highest run-scorer in this season.’’
According to Aakash Chopra, PCB did a brilliant job by tweaking the schedule of the Pakistan Super League due to coronavirus.
‘‘They got rid of the playoffs and instead decided to stage two semi-finals in a single day in order to finish the tournament as soon as possible. However, it was unfortunate that it got postponed.’’
The 42-year-old expressed his happiness about finally getting to see Lahore among the top four PSL teams on the points table as well as the return of cricket to Pakistan.
‘‘But the best thing was to see cricket come back to Pakistan and the stadiums filled with spectators. It was an incident-free PSL which is such a fantastic thing, as it would encourage other teams to tour Pakistan.’’
