Aakash Chopra predicts World Test Championship finalists
Cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra has named the teams which he believes will qualify for the final of the World Test Championship (WTC). About India’s chances of making the finals, the former cricketer believes it will be a great challenge.
According to Chopra, India has to keep a 100% record against Australia . He added that drawing and losing is not an option for the Rohit Sharma’s men. Furthermore, the 44-year-old added that New Zealand chances of playing another WTC final don’t look good.
Aakash Chopra feels that even if the Kiwis manage to beat Sri Lanka at home, it will be difficult for them to beat Pakistan and England away from home. “It is over for them, they won’t qualify,” he said.
The former Indian batter isn’t counting England, Bangladesh, West Indies and New Zealand among the teams who can play the second WTC final. “I don’t think Sri Lanka have a chance at qualification,” Chopra added.
Aakash Chopra believes the three teams which are favourite are India, Pakistan and Australia. However, he stated that Pakistan have a great chance if they stop making such roads (referring to the Rawalapindi pitch for the first test match.) At the end, he named Pakistan and Australia as the finalists of the World Test Championship.
