“World class”: Aaron Finch heaps praise on Shaheen, Babar and other Pakistani players

Aaron Finch and Babar Azam with the series trophy

Australia’s limited-overs captain Aaron Finch has heaped praise on Pakistani players including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf and others. Pakistan and Australia will meet in the first One Day International (ODI) today in Lahore.

Speaking ahead of the white-ball series, Aaron Finch termed Shaheen Afridi a “world class” fast bowler. He added that the left arm pacer is wonderful to watch. “He can swing the new ball and execute really well at the end of the innings as well.”

The Aussie captain stated that Pakistan has world class players led by skipper Babar Azam, who is the number one ODI batter in the world. He praised Pakistan’s bowling attack and acknowledged the danger they possess with the new ball.

Aaron Finch also talked about Haris Rauf’s magnificent performances in the Australia’s Big Bash League. The 35-year-old went on to add that Hasan Ali has shown his class in the past and Usman Qadir also has ability to spin the ball big.

The Aussie skipper believes that it won’t be a problem adjusting in the 50-over format for his team despite not playing much 50 over matches since last year.

“ODI format is one of the easiest to adjust into quickly. ODI gives you enough time to get back into the game, whereas T20 cricket could be challenging and Test cricket can test every part of you right away.” Finch concluded.
