Missing persons activist Idris Khattak allegedly kidnapped by unidentified men at Swabi interchange

Officials have confirmed that the news about Khattak's abduction is true, but FIR will be lodged following initial investigation

Idris Khattak, ANP leader and rights activist who has been repeatedly seen taking the frontline for the missing persons cause, has been abducted by unknown men at Swabi interchange. He was kidnapped when he was on his way to Swabi from Akora Khattak village, his driver Shahsawar told police.

Shahsawar lodged a report at Anbar police station, in which he mentioned that 4 unidentified men stopped Khattak’s car at Swabi Motorway Interchange and kidnapped him. According to the details, the incident happened on November 13 and police has not registered a first information report (FIR) yet.

Officials have confirmed that the news about Khattak’s abduction is true, but FIR will be lodged following initial investigation. Other rights advocates, including civil activist Jibran Nasir, have condemned the incident.

Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has also demanded Khattak’s immediate recovery, urging the Pakistani state to fulfill its constitutional obligations towards its citizens.
