ADB and Kamyab Jawan Program collaborate: Here’s all you need to know
According to Usman Dar, the program aims to enhance business activity and create employment opportunities in the country.
During a virtual meeting with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced that it wants to collaborate with the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Program.
The purpose of the program is to ensure the financial inclusion of the youth. To help fulfill this purpose, ADB wants to enter a partnership with the program’s various micro-financing schemes.
According to Usman Dar, the program aims to enhance business activity and create employment opportunities in the country. While commenting on the investment the present government is making in the youth, Usman Dar said:
The country’s youth has enormous potential and can play a crucial role in putting the country on the track of progress and development. The present government has been investing in youth extensively to ensure their economic empowerment.
Following the virtual meeting, Usman Dar appreciated the bank’s interest to work towards Pakistani youth’s empowerment mutually. ADB Deputy Country Director Asif Cheema stated:
We will share the concept paper containing the proposal regarding lending to micro-financing schemes run by the PM Kamyab Jawan Program. ADB is keenly interested in exploring all possible avenues for collaboration with the Kamyab Jawan Program.
The SAPM extended his support towards the ADB representatives and assured the bank’s meaningful participation in the PM Kamyab Jawan Program.
Usman Dar also talked about the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES), introduced under the umbrella of the PM Kamyab Jawan Program. He said that he is willing to develop new loan schemes besides those already operative under the YES for further enhancement.
