Adnan Siddiqui says Mohsin Abbas should be given a 'second chance'. Do you agree?
On Friday, Mohsin Abbas and his rumored girlfriend, Nazish Jahangir, were arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s cybercrime wing over charges of blackmailing, harassment, fake pictures, and videos.
Before this, Mohsin’s ex-wife Fatima Sohail had filed an FIA complaint against Mohsin and Nazish. Fatima claimed that the two were harassing her over social media; however, the duo rejected all claims and termed the accusations to be ‘fake’.
Adnan Siddiqui believes that Mohsin Abbas Haider should be given a second chance because he ‘has been punished enough’. Speaking to a media outlet, Adnan said:
First of all, I don’t think what Mohsin did should have been in the papers. That’s a debate I don’t want to get into, but I feel that people are just going to enjoy or take pleasure from your misery. Nobody wants to help you.
Adnan Siddiqui further said that people should be given second chances:
Hypothetically speaking, if you do not give a chance to someone who deserves it – just because of their personal life – aren’t you making them a patient of repression?
Adnan added that the art should be separated from the artist:
You have punished him enough. He has also lost his show. We are no one to stop anyone from earning. When we are not the providers of livelihood, why should we be the ones taking it away?
It should be noted that Adnan Siddiqui is the producer of Mohsin’s upcoming drama, ‘Ghamandi’. In the serial, Mohsin will be sharing the screen with his rumored girlfriend, Nazish Jahangir. The director of the drama serial, Sohail Javed, explained that Ghamandi would be a ‘family drama’.
It is pertinent to mention that last year, Mohsin Abbas’ former wife, Fatima Sohail, accused him of being abusive towards her. She alleged that Mohsin Abbas was cheating on her. On the grounds of abusive behavior and money extortion, she filed an FIR against Mohsin.
Mohsin made headlines in August 2019 when a lower court in Lahore found him guilty of threatening ex-wife Fatima. Later in September 2019, the couple divorced. Following the allegations, Mohsin lost his role in the Dunya News’ talk-show Mazaq Raat.
