Sindh Food Authority arrested three suspects, including a shopkeeper, for selling plastic eggs at various places of Karachi.
According to the source, in the Karachi defense area on the complaint of selling plastic eggs, Sindh food authority along with police raided a shop.
The honor of the general store was arrested and his shop was sealed after the plastic eggs resembling real eggs were found in the shop.
Police Investigation has extended the scope of the investigation, says SP Investigation Suhaye Aziz. The shopkeeper and two suppliers have been arrested in this regard; one of them was arrested from the farmhouse.
The egg-laden truck was also recovered from the suspects, as it is being tracked where the eggs were being supplied.
Furthermore, Sindh food authority also conducted raid at Clifton area Karachi, two egg crates allegedly made of plastic were recovered. Two men were arrested for selling artificial plastic eggs.
After that, eggs were sent to the laboratory for inspection. Reports from the laboratory have verified that eggs are made of plastics.
Food authorities describe eggs as harmful to health. Initial inquiries revealed harmful eggs were supplied to Karachi from the Dhabi Ji farm.
This is not the first time that unhealthy food like eggs being served to people in Pakistan. Before that, Donkeys and frogs were served to the people of Lahore.
