Ahmed Shehzad Reveals Why Couldn’t He Become A Successful Cricketer Like Virat Kohli
Pakistan opening batter Ahmed Shehzad has opened up about his career in an interview with a local media outlet.
The right handed batter blamed former coach Waqar Younis for his career going downhill. He claimed that the former coach in his report to the PCB recommended sending him back to the domestic circuit before letting him play for the national cricket team again.
According to Ahmed Shehzad, he didn’t see the report himself but a PCB official told him that such remarks were made regarding him. “Their words hurt my career, especially since I was not allowed to present my case. This was a pre-planned approach, and they wanted to kill two birds with one stone,” he said.
Regarding his comparison with India’s Virat Kohli, Shehzad stated that he didn’t have mentors like MS Dhoni. “I have said this before, and I will say it again, Kohli’s career picked off amazingly because he found MS Dhoni but unfortunately, here in Pakistan, your people cannot stand your success.”
He claimed that the Pakistan’s senior and ex-cricketers cannot digest seeing someone succeed in the cricketing world. Ahmed Shehzad made his debut for the Pakistan cricket team at a very young age. He was known for his aggressive approach at the top of the order.
