Ali Zafar’s PSL Song Runs into Trouble, Petition Filed
It looks like the controversy surrounding the Pakistan Super League’s anthem is not going to end any time soon.
While fans are desperately waiting for Ali Zafar’s version of the PSL anthem, a resident of Lahore has approach the court to stop the release of the song.
According to media reports, the petitioner, Rizwan Nawab, has filed a petition against Ali Zafar’s upcoming song. He believes the renowned singer’s version of PSL anthem will cause serious damage to the reputation of PSL worldwide.
In his petition, Rizwan Nawab further said that the Pakistan Super League is a high octane cricket tournament, which is being held entirely in the country following lots of efforts by the PCB.
Moreover, he also stated that the ongoing war of words between Ali Zafar and Ali Azmat is also damaging the image of PSL. He went on to request in his plea that Pemra should be asked to ensure that no PSL anthem ,other than the official one, is aired on any TV channel.
The court ordered Ali Zafar and Pakistan Cricket Board to submit their responses by March 2.
This year’s PSL anthem proved to be a real disappointment compared to what we have seen in the past. The anthem became the most disliked PSL anthem on YouTube.
Ever since the release of the song, people have been calling for Ali Zafar to come up with his own version of the PSL anthem. Ali Zafar has reportedly prepared the song and it will be released in the next few days, if the court permits.
