Pakistan Post sets up Amazon Facilitation Center to boost online business in the country
Now Pakistani companies can create IDs using their Pakistani details, including Pakistani banks, on the buying and selling platform.
Things are looking up for Pakistani businesses, and online buyers as Amazon has opened its platforms for Pakistani sellers. Pakistan Post Postmaster General Punjab Khawaja Imran Raza said:
Pakistani brands will now be able to access all major markets through Amazon, which will enhance the country’s business market.
PRGMEA North Zone Chairman Adeeb Iqbal Sheikh said:
Pakistan Post office has been formally authorized as the delivery partner of the global e-commerce giant. This is being seen as a massive achievement for Pakistan’s e-commerce sector as Pakistani products will now be available to millions of consumers globally.
The office-bearer added:
This move will lead to favorable outcomes for the youth as well via small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to sell on the Amazon platform. This will add Pakistan sellers into the international market.
During a meeting with the delegation of Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA), General Raza stated:
Pakistan Post has established an Amazon Facilitation Centre to facilitate garment manufacturers and exporters on behalf of the government to sell different items/commodities like garments, products, etc., worldwide.
The Pakistan Post Postmaster General further added:
Pakistan Post is fully prepared to take advantage of the opportunity provided by Amazon. The department is all set to transport sellers’ consignments from their doorstep to different Amazon warehouses in the world.
Concluding the statement, Khawaja Imran Raza also shared that e-commerce is the best business opportunity, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic as online buying and selling is increasing rapidly.
It should be noted that Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile and Investment Abdul Razzaq Dawood confirmed on the 21st of May that e-commerce giant Amazon had added Pakistan to its sellers’ list.
According to sources, the Amazon decision for the registration of Pakistani companies was the outcome of strenuous efforts of the commerce ministry and Pakistani missions in Washington and Los Angeles. Now Pakistani companies can create IDs using their Pakistani details, including Pakistani banks, on the buying and selling platform.
