In a heartwarming gesture, Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom set up a fund in the memory of Zohra Shah
The couple will utilize the funds, accumulated via the trust, for two main objectives: firstly, they aim to bring justice to Zohra and provide financial assistance to Zohra’s family.
Remember, Zohra Shah? Zohra Shah was an eight-year-old girl employed by a wealthy family as a maid. While working, on Sunday, the girl opened the cage to feed her employers’ pet birds, but they flew away.
The reports of the incident indicate that this action enraged her employers, who allegedly beat her unconscious on account that she set their prized parrots free. Later, they dumped her body at a nearby hospital where Zohra succumbed to her injuries.
Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom have set out on a journey to bring justice to Zohra Shah and countless other child abuse victims. To begin with, they have set up a Child Protection Fund in the memory of Zohra Shah.

Where will the funds be used?
The couple will utilize the funds, accumulated via the trust, for two main objectives: firstly, they aim to bring justice to Zohra and provide financial assistance to Zohra’s family, including schooling of Zohra’s brothers and sisters.
Amir and Faryal have already spoken to Zohra’s father in this regard. Secondly, they aim to fuel their mission of helping other child abuse victims in Pakistan.
Makhdoom took to Instagram and shared details of the initiative and the fund on her Instagram story. She shined a light on Zohra’s heartbreaking narrative once again, but this time to fight for her.
My team at @amirkhanfoundation visited Zohra's parents and siblings today. We have assured them that we will get justice for Zohra, and ensured them that her siblings will all receive a good education. #ZohraShah pic.twitter.com/CtKFSldb9Y
