Anti-Narcotics Force has arrested PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah as of today. He was taken into custody while he was traveling from Faisalabad to Lahore. He has been arrested from the Sukeki area, Dawn reports. Anti-Narcotics Force, however, has not specified the exact reason for arresting the senior leader of PML-N.

Rana Sanaullah was appointed as the PML-N’s Punjab President in the month of May this year. He had served as law minister in the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz.

The reaction of Maryam Nawaz

Maryam Nawaz accused PM Imran Khan for the arrest of Rana Sanaullah.

“What has ANS got to do with Rana Sanaullah? It could not get more absurd. He has been arrested for his bold and courageous stance. Jaali-e-Azam being the small and petty-minded man that he is directly behind his arrest. Make no mistake,” said Maryam Nawaz in a recent tweet while accusing PM Imran Khan for the arrest of PML-N Punjab President.

Bilawal says that the arrests expose the government’s weaknesses and desperation

“Arrest of President Punjab PMLN by Anti-Narcotics force is obviously a desperate attempt at political victimization. Sanaullah has been a vociferous critic of PPP in the past & is currently one of the most vocal critics of the regime. Arrests expose government’s weakness & desperation,” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while condemning the arrest of Rana Sanaullah in a tweet.

The opposition leaders took to social media accounts condemning the arrest of PML-N’s Rana Sanaullah while no ground protests have been recorded so far on the arrest.
