APS Peshawar Attack survivor Ahmad Nawaz becomes President of the Oxford Union

A survivor of the APS Peshawar Attack, Ahmad Nawaz has reached a new milestone by becoming the President of the Oxford Union. He was selected for the post earlier this year.

In a tweet, he announced the development. He added that he was proud to have assumed his duties as President. Ahmad said that he is looking forward to having world leaders debate pressing issues and empowering the youth.

President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi also congratulated Ahmad on his achievement. He said that the youth of the country is his biggest hope.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted his appreciation for Amad. He wrote that Nawaz has set an example for the youth of Pakistan.

Ahmad moved to the United Kingdom in 2014, following the worst militant attack on an Army Public School. The APS Peshawar attack resulted in 150 casualties, and his younger brother was also martyred. He escaped the terrorists by pretending to be dead when they were roaming the school building. Ahmad was taken to Birmingham for treatment after being shot in the arm.
