Authorities take strict action against 12 illegal housing schemes
Hundreds of sites targeted and preparations are underway to launch action against them.
Commissioner Mohammad Mehmood and district administrators from Rawalpindi and Attock took action against 12 illegal housing societies on Thursday.
The Rawalpindi Development Authority and administrative authorities took strict action by demolishing the offices of six housing societies in Rawalpindi and four in Attock.
A senior official of the Rawalpindi Development Authority reported that site offices of Abad Pearl Villas, ACHS Sector VI, Maryam Green City, Rose Valley, Ruden Enclave, and Islamabad Farm Houses Phase-III were demolished on Adiala Road.
The authorities also removed electric poles and six billboards.
Goods Seized In Attock:
In Attock, goods were seized from four housing societies in Fatehjang before being demolished.
Four housing societies had been set up in the prohibited area of the new Airport – Al-Faisal Enclave, Airport Enclave, Mayfair, and Highland Suites. Authorities took action on Thursday against the illegal housing schemes by demolishing the offices and seizing goods.
Hundreds Of Sites Identified:
The Rawalpindi Development Authority reported that they were planning to take action against 12 more housing schemes next week. The official said that hundreds of sites have been identified and preparations are underway to take action against them.
Notices and warnings had been issued previously by respective authorities but the owners did not heed them.
