Babar Azam has become the fastest batsman to reach 7000 runs in T20 cricket The Pakistan cricket team‘s skipper, Babar Azam, has achieved another milestone in his splendid career. The right-handed batsman has become the fastest batsman to reach 7000 runs in men’s T20 cricket.

This record was previously held by the most explosive batsman of T20 cricket, Chris Gayle, who got to the 7000 runs figure in 192 innings. Babar Azam only needed 187 innings to become the fastest batsman to reach 7000 runs in men’s T20 cricket.

He achieved this feat in the ongoing National T20 Cup during the game between Central Punjab and Southern Punjab. Babar Azam was just four runs short of 7000 runs before this match.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old had become the fastest Asian batsman to score 6000 runs in T20 cricket. Not just in fewer innings but it also took Babar less time to reach the 7000 runs. It took him 8 years and 10 months to reach this milestone. He is the first batsman to have scored 7000 runs in less than 9 years.

Earlier this year, the Pakistan cricket team’s captain had become the fastest batsman to reach 2000 runs in T20 international cricket. This record was previously held by Indian Skipper Virat Kohli. Babar Azam reached 2000 runs in T20 internationals in just 52 innings.
