The Babar Azam vs Virat Kohli debate has been going on for quite some time now. Although, the Indian cricketer has been one of the best batters of this century but things are not really working out for him at the moment.

It is without a shadow of doubt that Babar Azam has been a better player than Virat Kohli in the last year or so. And the two cricketers’ International Cricket Council (ICC) batting rankings across the three formats speak for themselves.

In the latest ICC rankings in tests, ODIs and T20Is, Babar Azam has left behind his Indian counterpart. In the red ball cricket, Babar Azam is ranked at number eight while the Indian cricketer is ranked at number 9.

Similarly, Babar also leads Kohli in the white ball cricket. The Pakistani skipper is the number one ODI batsman while Virat Kohli is a spot below him at number 2. In T20 cricket, Kohli is no way near Babar as the Pakistani batter is ranked at number two while the Indian cricketer isn’t even in the top 10 of the ICC T20 batting ranking.

Babar Azam has so far represented Pakistan cricket team in 37 tests, 83 ODIs and 73 T20Is. He averages 43.18 in tests, 56.93 in ODIs and 45.17 in T20Is. He has a total of 20 centuries and 61 half centuries  to his name across the three formats.
