Babar Azam will be one of the legends of cricket: Harbhajan Singh

Babar Azam

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been a consistent performer for his country ever since making his debut over six years ago. He has played a crucial part in Pakistan becoming one of the best teams in the world in the recent times.

Babar Azam has made a strong case for himself to be included in the ‘Fab 4’, which includes the modern day greats including Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson. These players have been at the top of their game for some time now and have been match winners for their countries.

The Pakistani skipper averages over 45 across all the formats and was recently named as the ICC ODI cricketer of the year. Furthermore, earlier this month, he also became the first male player ever to win two ICC Player of the Months awards.

Harbhajan Singh sees Babar finishing his career as one of the greats

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh feels its too early to put Babar in any league despite being a quality player.

“I think it is a bit too early to say if he can be in the Fab 4. I don’t even know who is in the Fab 4. But Babar has the quality, he is a proper batsman with so much confidence and technique. Going forward he will be one of the legends of cricket. But now it’s too early to put him in any league.”

“Let him play and keep on scoring more runs and winning games for his team. And talent-wise he is no less than anyone else,” he added.

The 27 year old has represented Pakistan in 40 Tests, 86 ODIs, and 74 T20Is. He is the only player ranked among the top five batters across the three formats in ICC rankings.
