Famous Clothing Brand ‘Bareeze’ faces massive backlash after launching Moharram collection
After facing a massive backlash, the brand removed the word 'Muharram' from its website.
The Holy Month of Moharram marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year. Muslims worldwide mourn over the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, one of the beloved grandsons of our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). He was martyred mercilessly at the battle of Karbala.
However , from the last few years, Moharram has become more of a “festival” instead of a “month of mourning.”
The most sold fabric during this holy month is the colour black as it represents the notion of “grief.”
Designers and clothing brands have established themselves by creating a massive and robust impact on society. Be it weddings, Eid or Independence Day.
To maximize their earnings, many designers have lost their sense of morality. They are now using the month of Muharram as an incentive for selling their clothes.
This year, the famous Pakistani clothing brand, ‘Bareeze’, launched its Moharram collection with hefty prices.
After facing a massive backlash, the brand removed the word ‘Muharram’ from its website.

So here comes a new collection by #Bareeze brand. Like seriously? Is #Muharram like a festival to celebrate? Forget about shia or sunni, how can a Muslim tolerate this stupidity? Years ago someone gave his life for us and our religion. PLEASE RESPECT MUHARRAM….#saynotoBareeze pic.twitter.com/h490rbfPjc

#Bareeze is not the only one who has started that. Check google and you will find alot…it also happened three years ago and was criticised..they should stop doing that.they need to respect our Holy month Muharram..think about some other way for earning profit.#RespectMuharram
