While everyone was busy in Cricket World Cup 2019, men in green made us all proud on another front. Babar Masih and Zulfiqar Qadir of Team Pakistan-2 defeated Pankaj Advani, Laxman Rawat and Aditya Mehta of Team India-1 in the deciding frame, winning the tournament.
This is not the first time the national players have made their mark in snooker. Previously, Pakistan’s Muhammad Bilal, Babar Masih, and Asjad Iqbal also qualified for ACBS Asian Men Snooker Championship 2019 pre-quarter-finals in Doha.
The national sportsmen have put up a performance up to the mark. Even before the final results, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association manager Naveed Kapadia were sure that Pakistan would win at least one medal at the event.
Speaking to a local media source, Kapadia expressed his views, saying that Pakistan’s snooker players are doing exceptionally well.
“Our players have performed really well.”
It is absolutely refreshing to see that despite the limited resources and least concentration towards the field, Pakistani sportsmen are driven by passion and are representing the country on all fronts. The recent victory in the world of snooker is a living example of their commitment and resilience.
