Ben Stokes to donate match fee to help rehabilitate flood victims

English cricket team Ben Stokes has decided to donate match fee for the three-match series against Pakistan.

In the statement, the English Test captain remarked that it was an honor to play in Pakistan for the first time.

“To be back here after 17 years as a Test side is very exciting. There is a sense of responsibility amongst the playing and support group and to be there is special,” he said. Stokes further added that the floods in Pakistan were a very sad sight to witness, and also had a significant impact on not just the people, but the entire country overall.

The athlete, who played a fundamental role in helping England win against Pakistan, hoped that this donation would help in the rehabilitation of Pakistan’s worst flood-hit areas. When Stokes was asked about the series, he responded that coming to Pakistan for the first time seems great, and further added that it is a great opportunity to play in the country after 17 years.
