Sehat Insaf Card

The Federal government has launched the Sehat Insaf Card to provide free-of-cost medical services to low-income and poor households. It covers medical bills up to 10 lac rupees annually.

The card, under the PTI’s Sehat Sahulat Program, was part of a health insurance scheme that the ruling party first launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2016. The program has now been extended to Islamabad, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

How to Apply for Sehat Insaf Card

  1. First, check the eligibility of your Sehat card by sending your National Identity Card number to 8500 through SMS. You can also check your eligibility via the Sehat Card online facility.
  2. Download the ‘Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card’ application and register yourself for the Sehat Insaf Card.
  3. If you are eligible, your CNIC will function as your Sehat Card.
  4. You must have your CNIC, B-form, and Sehat Insaf Card to benefit from medical services at the empaneled hospitals.
  5. You can get your Sehat Card verified at the hospital’s Sehat Sahulat Program (SSP) counter.

  • Free of cost surgical procedures.
  • Free maternity health service.
  • Free hospitalization.
  • Free consultations and follow-ups.
  • Coverage of transport costs.

Treatment Packages

The Sehat Sahulat Program offers two treatment packages:

  1. Priority Treatment Package

All cardholders are eligible for an initial coverage of PKR 300,000 per family each year. The treatment also offers additional coverage of PKR 300,000 per family.

The treatments provided in this package are:

  • All medical and surgical procedures.
  • Heart diseases (angioplasty/bypass).
  • Diabetes mellitus completion.
  • Burns and accident cases.
  • End-stage kidney diseases/dialysis.
  • Chronic infections (hepatitis/HIV/rheumatology).
  • Organ failure cases.
  • Cancer (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery).
  • Neurosurgical procedure.
2. Secondary Treatment Package

Cardholders get an initial coverage of Rupees Sixty thousand per family annually. The package also provides additional coverage of PKR 60,000 per family when needed.

The treatment services in this package are:

  • All medical and surgical procedures.
  • Emergency treatment needs admission.
  • Maternity services (standard delivery and C–section).
  • Maternity consultancy/antenatal checkups (four before delivery and one follow-up after delivery).
  • Fractures and injuries.
  • Post-hospitalization.
  • Coverage of local transportation worth PKR 1,000 (thrice a year).
  • Provision of transport to tertiary care hospitals.

Many hospitals are on the panel in most major cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Faisalabad, and Multan.
