Government devising a plan to tackle fraud threat and verify the amount of fuel you get at petrol stations

The Federal Government has offered a new facility to vehicle owners in Islamabad. People can now measure the quantity of fuel given by a fuel dispenser at any petrol station in the city.
The facility has been introduced after some of the petrol pumps were accused of “speeding up” the meters, which meant less fuel went into the tank for more money. Now vehicle owners can check for themselves as to whether there’s foul play or not.
The government introduced the new facility on Sunday. Regarding this, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqat said:
The facility is being provided under the Islamabad Capital Territory’s (ICT) initiative ‘Quantity on Spot Check’ to remove concerns about incorrect measures at petrol pumps.
While talking to a media outlet, he further added:
The facility is intended to develop a sense of trust between motorists and fuel stations’ management and keep a keen eye on short measuring done by any fuel station in the city. Initially, the facility will be made available at all Shell petrol stations in the city. Soon more fuel stations across the capital shall be added to the list.
DC Hamza Shafqat also reported:
There are dedicated teams running checks and conducting raids at the fuel stations within the capital territory and sealing any petrol station involved in any kind of malpractice on the spot.
