How ‘birds and pollution’ caused a loss worth millions to PIA in one day!
The negligence of the people dumping garbage and housing sanctuaries near the airport can cost lives.
Pakistan International Airline’s latest addition to its fleet, freshly painted in the stunning colors of Pakistani flag, was damaged by a bird strike. These birds live in the sanctuaries near the airport and fly around the garbage that is dumped in the areas nearby.
This is an extremely irresponsible behavior pattern by the owners of the bird sanctuaries. Those pilling their garbage have caused damage worth millions to PIA aircraft in one day. They have been approached many times to address this issue but all the efforts have proved to be futile.
While we loudly criticize the national flag carrier, we need to criticize those who are adding to its losses as well! We need to collectively raise our voice when our national asset is being damaged due to the disregard of those who refuse to move away from the sanctuaries and not dump their garbage near the airport.

They are willing to put the lives of all the passengers at a huge risk. The expert pilot diverted the plane and landed it safely, but the negligence of these people dumping garbage and housing sanctuaries near the airport can cost lives.
Something needs to be done now. These bird sanctuaries and garbage disposals near the airports need to be shifted away immediately. We need to collectively call for responsible behavior by our industrialists, those who claim to care about humanity and citizens of Pakistan. They should not be allowed to play with the lives of people and causing millions of rupees of damage to airlines.
