Boxer Amir Khan Pledges Financial Help For Govt of Pakistan Against Covid-19
Sportsmen around the world are coming forward to support their governments against the coronavirus pandemic.
Famous sports personalities such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marco Reus, Roger Federer, Pep Guardiola, Shahid Afridi and others have donated big amount of money to the authorities.
Similarly, British-Pakistani boxer, Amir Khan, has also offered his help to the UK’s government as well as to the Pakistani government.The famous boxer has pledged to provide as many as 40 million rupees to the Pakistani government, besides offering his boxing academy in Islamabad to be used as a quarantine centre.
”The Amir Khan Foundation will make sure to distribute ration and other necessary items among the poor,” said Amir Khan.
“I want to help the government of Pakistan as they assist the patients affected by coronavirus,” he added.
Pakistani cricketers are also helping the government as much as possible. The PCB had announced that the centrally-contracted players will be contributing Rs50 million to the government’s emergency fund to fight against the coronavirus.
