Boxer Muhammad Waseem becomes the first Pakistani to win the Silver World Title but receives no media coverage

Muhammad Waseem is known as "The Falcon" in the boxing world.

Recently, Muhammad Waseem became the first Pakistani boxer to win the World Boxing Council (WBC) championship. He won the Silver World Title after defeating Colombia’s Rober Barrera. According to details, Waseem won the fight very easily despite suffering significant cuts above his left eye and right cheekbone.

Muhammad Waseem is known as “The Falcon” in the boxing world. After winning the Silver World Title, he is a step closer to winning the Flyweight World Championship.

It is pertinent to mention that, over time, Muhammad Waseem has faced Barrera for two titles: the WBA World Eliminator and the WBC Silver. The 34-year-old has made history by becoming the first Pakistani to win two world titles.

The Pakistani boxer accepted Barrera’s challenge and stood victorious after a dominant performance in the final two rounds of the fight. Muhammad Waseem won the bout by unanimous decision, with scores of 115-113, 115-114, and 117-11 in his favor.

Pakistani media can’t help but be at the front row of every big news. Whether it be a blast or another political scandal, the media channels are on their toes to document it all. However, when it comes to sports, Pakistani media pays significant attention to cricket only.

The Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem brought such a big win home; however, the media paid no heed to his achievements. Not even one channel reported about the WBC Silver World Title winner. Several people are disappointed at Pakistani media’s ignorant behavior.
