The decision was taken following the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country. Pakistan Cricket Board had earlier tweaked the schedule of the league and introduced semi finals instead of play-offs.
The two semi finals were set to take place today at the Gaddafi stadium, Lahore. According to sources, the knock-out games will rescheduled, However, it is unlikely that the PSL will be played any further this season.
Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi has extended his supported to the PCB for its decision.
“PSL 2020 to postpone as state of emergency is declared in the country as a precautionary measure against the ongoing Novel Corona Virus, COVID 19 situation in Pakistan. After reviewing the situation altogether I believe it’s right in favour of everyone involved in @thePSLt20,” Javed Afridi said in a tweet.
