British-Pakistani Teenager Named in Manchester United U-23 Squad
British-Pakistani teenage footballer, Zidane Iqbal, has made it to the U-23 squad of the Premier League giants, Manchester United.
The 16-years-old was named in ‘the Red Devils’ squad against West Ham United. Although, Zidane Iqbal couldn’t get any minutes to play but he is being looked down upon as one of the future stars of Manchester United’s first team.

Iqbal recently made his debut for the U-18 team of Manchester United and has impressed many. He plays as an attacking mid-fielder.
“I was born in Manchester but my dad is from Pakistan and my mum is from Iraq,” Zidane Iqbal had said during an interview.
Talking about his playing position on the field, he said, “My position on the pitch is midfield, I prefer to be one of the attacking ones. But I do sometimes play as a deeper midfielder.”

During an interview, Zidane Iqbal named FC Barcelona’s midfielder Frenkie De Jong as his favorite. He added that playing for Pakistan will be really good as its his father’s country.
He has represented United in the Super Cup NI tournament in Northern Ireland and was part of the training camp in Austria in the summer of 2019.
