British Sikh community awards PM Imran Khan with “Lifetime Achievement” award in London
The ceremony was held at the City Hall in collaboration with the London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Two leading British Sikh organizations have presented PM Imran khan with ”Lifetime Achievement” award
Prime Minister has been honored after his growing popularity among the Sikh community following the Kartarpur initiative.
It seems like the appreciation PM Khan has received over the Kartarpur initiative is not ending anytime soon. During an event in London for the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, two leading British Sikh organizations presented PM Imran khan with the “Lifetime Achievement” award.
The ceremony was held at the City Hall, in collaboration with the London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Sikhs from all over Britain attended the event.
Several prominent Sikh figures, including Preet Kaur Gill, Dr. Onkar Sahota, and Deputy Mayor Debbie Weekes-Bernard, Satpal Singh, Jas Singh, Canon Mark Poulson, and others spoke at the event.
The award was received by Sahibzada Jahangir on behalf of the Prime Minister. Jahangir is representative of PM Khan for Trade and Investment in UK & Europe.
”A bridge between cultures”:
Sahibzada Jahangir, during his speech, highlighted the importance of the Kartarpur inauguration and said it will work as a ”bridge between cultures and countries”. He further added that Prime Minister would be honored to receive this prestigious token of appreciation.
“It all became possible because of Imran Khan’s love and passion for peace & humanity. I invite Sikhs from all around the world to come to Pakistan and enjoy our brotherly hospitality and love. Pakistan is now open for foreign investment as the country’s natural resources offer them great opportunities & their assets under the leadership of Imran Khan will be 100 percent protected at all times,” Jahangir.
Heads of both Sikh organizations appreciated the efforts of PM Khan and thanked him for understanding the importance of Kartarpur for the Sikh community.
