Overall, 43.9 million children were inoculated against the target of 39.6 million nationwide.

NEOC

While talking to Dawn, the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), coordinator Dr. Rana Safdar said, “The number of missed children was 2.5 million in April, but in the recent campaign, only 200,000 children under the age of five were missed”.

Safdar added, some children were not vaccinated because of parental denial, and according to the policy of the program, polio teams did not force the parents.

Dr. Rana Safdar further said the number of vaccine refusals has decreased up to seven times in December as compared to April. He added, there were 14 million cases of denial in April, and the number dropped to 2 million in the December campaign.

Quality over Quantity
