China denounces India, other FATF members for pursuing political agenda to blacklist Pakistan

China condemns the politicization of FATF as many countries are trailing a political agenda against Pakistan.

Restating its assistance to Pakistan at the platform of FATF,  China warned FATF members to abstain from politicizing the forum.

According to the source, China condemns the politicization of FATF as many countries are trailing a political agenda against Pakistan.

“China does not want the FATF to be politicized by any single country. There are some countries, which want to include Pakistan in the blacklist. We consider they have political designs. That is something China is against, China stands for justice,” Deputy Director-General for Policy Planning of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Department of Asian Affair Yao Wen said.

While talking to the Pakistani journalists, Yao Wen said, China stands with Pakistan and will block any attempt to include Pakistan in the blacklist.

“We made it clear to the United States and India that we cannot do it. It goes beyond the purpose of FATF,” he added.

He further added, “China will help (Pakistan) technically and politically to improve its system”.

Yao Wen further says instead of pursuing the agenda in a bid to blacklist Pakistan other countries should help the country to improve its system as China is continuously supporting Pakistan in this regard.

Other than China, Turkey and Malaysia also supported Pakistan in the FATF meeting that was held in October.

The recent visit of PM Imran Khan was appreciated by Wen and consider the tour productive, where PM met with many heads of state.

“China and Pakistan have cooperation in all the sectors. Our mutual trust stands very high while we have a deficit of trust with India as we have so many problems and differences (with them),” he added

Yao Wen further said China and Pakistan also shares strong cooperation in the sector of defense.
