CM Punjab election: Shah Mehmood Qureshi reacts to speculations about Zain Qureshi
Former Foreign Minister and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf – Shah Mehmood Qureshi – has reacted to the speculations about his son – Zain Qureshi – becoming the next Chief Minister of Punjab.
According to him, there is no truth in the media reports that his son wants to become the next CM Punjab. The PTI Vice Chairman stated that he will be backing his party’s candidate – Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi – in the all important election.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi added Zain Qureshi is not even interested in becoming a minister. “His duty is to safeguard the ideology of PTI,” Qureshi said.
It should be noted that banners were hoisted in Multan on yesterday in support of Qureshi’s son as a candidate for the office of Punjab chief minister.
Zain Qureshi had defeated Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML N) candidate Salman Naeem in the recently held by-polls. He secured 46,963 votes, while his rival candidate got 40,104 votes.
