Communication ministry’s revenue witnessed a Rs24.42 billion increase during the last 15 months

In the past fifteen months, the revenue of the communication ministry has reported a 62 percent increase in revenue. While revealing its performance of 15 months in a report released today, the ministry said it had added Rs.24.42 billion to its revenue. Another Rs 11.90 billion had been received on account of the embezzlement of funds in the mega project.
On Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directives, around Rs. 231 million were saved by the communication ministry through austerity drive. The Pakistani Senate was informed about the ten billion rupees increase in the revenue of the National Highway Authority (NHA) over the past eight months as well.
The report said, “The record of corruption cases reported in the department was handed over to the PM’s Inquiry Commission and the NAB.”
While briefing the house. Minister for Communications Murad Saeed said that to ensure better management of highways and motorways, work was underway on geographic information systems.
He said, “The revenue collected from the toll plazas are being spent on the maintenance and repair of the highways.”
Murad Saeed continued that to ensure the safety of commuters on the roads, a national road safety policy has been formulated as well.
