Complaint filed against TV show, ‘Time Out with Ahsan Khan’ for using animals as props
One of the segments in the show has faced backlash for exploiting animals as props.
Recently, a Television Channel named Express Entertainment has been under a lot of criticism. A newly aired TV show named “Time Out with Ahsan Khan” introduced a segment in which Ahsan Khan punishes a guest for giving a wrong answer. Little rabbits are placed on guests’ laps to make them pay the penalty. The segment has faced backlash for exploiting animals as props.
Rabbits can easily be terrified with loud voices, and using them as objects of entertainment is unethical. It is also insensitive towards guests who are forcibly made to hold the poor animal placed in their lap.
A complaint has been filed to PEMRA against Express entertainment for broadcasting a show that uses animals as props.
Earlier, the video clips of a terrified, almost crying Maya Ali and a scared Ayeza Khan went viral on social media. People deemed the whole thing as insensitive and insane.
