The security situation in Pakistan has drastically improved over the past few years. As a result, the country’s tourism industry has started to thrive again.

Now taking the ancient valleys, relaxed visa restrictions and a high-profile royal visit to Pakistan into account, World’s best luxury travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, has ranked Pakistan as the number one holiday destination for the year 2020. The complete list of the best holiday destinations includes as many as 20 countries and Pakistan has emerged on top.

“We aim for a best holiday destinations list that is geographically diverse, as well as one that covers a range of trips, from eco-tourism to adventure, to inspire every type of traveller,” a statement from the magazine reads.

The magazine, in its article, also highlighted the country’s exquisite landscape.

“Pakistan has more peaks taller than 22,965ft than China and Nepal combined, making it an almost magnetic spot for adventure travelers and intrepid hikers,” Condé Nast Traveler writes.

According to Jonny Bealby, founder and CEO of adventure-tour operator Wild Frontiers, the recent security measures and the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s focus on increasing the international tourist numbers in Pakistan has already started to have an impact.
