A Consumer Court in Karachi penalized an online company for delivering worn-out clothes to a customer earlier this week.

The financial penalty resulted from a petition against the online clothing store. According to sources, a woman from Karachi filed the petition contending that:

I could not attend an important event because the company in question sent me torn and worn-out clothes.

The Consumer Court slapped a fine of Rs. 30,000 on the online clothing store, and ordered it to provide new clothes to the litigant.

The court also warned the clothing store that if they did not pay the fine and provide new clothes to the petitioner, contempt of court proceedings will be initiated against the company.

Concluding the petition, the court remarked that citizens move to the judiciary seeking justice, and culprits involved in online fraud cannot be given an exemption.
