According to authorities, about 12 km long segment of track from Dera Gujran and Lakshmi Chowk will be completed in the current week. As per advisor to Chief Minister Khawaja Ahmad, four more train sets have reached Lahore to complete the project.

The Apex court permitted going ahead with the project with the same speed but the bench also set 31 conditions to ensure transparency and smooth functioning. The conditions included having strict checks of construction, and the dedicated trial period before the formal operations begin.
